Marlowe F5712

Christopher Marlowe (1564-93), poet and dramatist, was born the same year as Shakespeare and is famous for his blank verse dramas Tamburlaine the Great, Edward II and Dr Faustus.  He was stabbed to death in a tavern brawl.  This is a monochrome floral trail drawn with pen and ink in a crosshatch style similar to a toile de Jouy.  It is printed on a twill of linen and cotton in four colourways of purple, cerise, ink blue and sepia.
